Winwin reported that Vladimir Petkovic, the former Algeria coach, is among the candidates to take charge of Udinese, as the club considers dismissing coach Kosta Runjaic after a slump in results, including a 2-5 defeat to Roma in Serie A.
Petkovic previously coached Lazio between 2012 and 2014, leading them to win the Coppa Italia in 2013. He also coached Switzerland, taking them to the quarter-finals of Euro 2020 after they eliminated France on penalties in the round of sixteen.
The report said Udinese are considering other names alongside Petkovic, including Paolo Zanetti and Davide Ballardini, while Roberto D’Aversa’s stock has fallen. The club is seeking to resolve the coaching situation before its next match against Venezia, scheduled for Friday, with Runjaic’s future still under threat.
