Lucescu: Al Sadd played a balanced game against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli but lacked focus

Al Sadd coach Razvan Lucescu said his team produced a good, balanced performance against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli in the AFC Champions League Elite but lacked focus when finishing attacks after the sides drew.

Lucescu explained that Al Sadd created chances in the first half and made some mistakes in the second, and could have scored at least one goal. He added that the team came away with a point, though he felt they had lost two, and that facing Saudi teams is difficult.

Al Sadd goalkeeper and man of the match Meshaal Barsham said the team was satisfied with its performance, but not the result, and had tried to score in both halves without succeeding. He noted that the opposition had also failed to score, and that the players’ aim had been to win.
