Marco Rose praises Bournemouth’s substitutes after win over Sparta Prague

Marco Rose praised the quality of his substitutes after Bournemouth came from behind to beat hosts Sparta Prague 3-1 on Thursday in the fourth round of the Europa League league phase. Tyler Adams, Evanilson and Ryan scored for the English side.
Bournemouth’s comeback came after Lewis Cook missed a penalty, then Sparta Prague took the lead through Ebrima Singhateh in the 35th minute. Two minutes later, Tobias Goudal was sent off for the Czech side, allowing Bournemouth to make the most of their numerical advantage in the second half.
Rose said having good options on the bench gives a coach calm and confidence, and described the away comeback as a positive sign for the team. He added that his players had kept their confidence at half-time, despite the difficulty of pressing an opponent who is strong in possession.
The win took Bournemouth to 12 points from four matches, placing them second on goal difference behind Benfica. It also extended their winning run to seven consecutive matches in all competitions, their longest such run since 2014, and Rose stressed the need to stay focused and avoid complacency.
Bournemouth visit Ipswich Town in the next round of the Premier League, aiming for their eighth consecutive win.
