Gerrard unsure whether Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return would suit Liverpool

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard said he was not certain that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return to the team would be the best option for the current squad, although he believes the English full-back’s ability would strengthen the team. He made the comments in an interview on The Overlap Daily.

Gerrard explained that he would personally support the player’s return, but noted that the way he left Liverpool remains a sensitive subject and that he was unsure what effect his return would have on the squad and manager at this point.

The report linked speculation about Alexander-Arnold’s return to the difficulty he has had in securing a regular starting place at Real Madrid since joining the club, noting that his departure from Liverpool had upset some of the club’s fans.
