Media sources say Asian and Saudi authorities and Al Hilal have received no response from Al Ahli on when the team’s delegation will arrive in Riyadh, less than 24 hours before their AFC Champions League Elite match.
The teams are scheduled to meet on Tuesday in the fourth round of the West Asia league phase. According to the sources, Al Ahli has not set an arrival time for its delegation, while other sources expected it to arrive before sunset on Monday.
Several Al Ahli administrators, the match commissioner and the refereeing team arrived in Riyadh on Sunday. The absence of a clear arrival time for the delegation raised questions about reception and accommodation arrangements, while the status of the technical meeting scheduled for Monday afternoon remained uncertain, with the possibility it could be postponed until the evening.
The report also said that a post about the match, attributed by users to Al Ahli’s account, was later deleted. The club had previously published a list of its opponents in November that included Al Hilal, and its website showed a countdown to the match.
