AS praised Diomande’s defensive role in the Clásico against Barcelona, saying his discipline and his teammates’ support helped limit Lamine Yamal’s threat and reduce the space available to him, rather than relying solely on one-on-one battles.
According to the figures reported by the newspaper, Yamal did not put any of his five attempts between the posts, lost the ball 25 times and completed four of his nine dribbles. By contrast, Diomande completed 67% of his dribbles and 87% of his passes, delivering a performance that combined defensive duties with an attacking contribution.
