FIFA has approved increased financial distributions for players, member associations and clubs connected with the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil, as part of decisions aimed at supporting the sustainability of women's football. FIFA said further details would be discussed at a meeting of its Council in December 2026.
Associations participating in the tournament will receive $2.5 million, with the funds to be made available before December 2026. Players will also receive the same level of services provided to their counterparts at the 2026 Men's World Cup, with any surplus from the tournament allocated to participating associations, and an amount set aside for players.
The arrangements also include guaranteed payments for players, allocations for clubs based on the number of their players participating in the tournament, as well as distributions to national teams participating in the qualifying pathway.
