Journalist Pete O’Rourke reports that Chelsea are no longer pursuing Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara and are instead focusing on signing Alex Scott from Bournemouth in the January transfer window. This comes amid Liverpool’s interest in Camara, with no confirmation that the club have agreed a deal to sign him.
O’Rourke said that Camara had been close to joining Chelsea in the summer before the deal collapsed at the last moment. He added that renewed interest from the club remains a possibility, but Scott is currently ahead of him on Chelsea’s list of targets for January, and the club want to complete a deal for the Bournemouth player.
Earlier reports had indicated that Liverpool were monitoring Camara, who is under contract with Monaco until the summer of 2029, and that the club had contacted his entourage. A report in early October also said that Monaco were asking £60 million for the player.
