According to a report by Swiss website 4-4-2, Brentford could demand between €50 million and €60 million if they have to sell Senegalese defender El Hadji Malick Diouf, amid interest from Chelsea and Liverpool in signing him next year.
The report added that both clubs had been in contact with the player’s representatives to discuss a potential move and could make official offers soon. Chelsea had expressed interest in signing Diouf earlier this year, while the report says Liverpool are looking for an alternative to Milos Kerkez, with Kostas Tsimikas potentially leaving next summer.
Diouf joined Brentford from West Ham in a €40 million deal during the summer, after a season in which he featured in 34 matches across all competitions and provided five assists. But he has played just 154 minutes in five Premier League matches for Brentford this season, with Keane Lewis-Potter ahead of him at left-back.
The report says a move to a bigger club could prompt the player and Brentford to reconsider their long-term plans, even though the club signed him as a project for the future.
