Ali Maher, the new head coach of Egypt’s senior national team, met with the Egyptian FA board to discuss preparations for the team’s upcoming commitments after being officially appointed to lead the side, succeeding Hossam Hassan.
The board heard Maher’s technical vision and plan for the coming period. He is to submit the names of his assistant coaching staff for approval of the final lineup before the national team’s training camp begins. After the meeting, he toured the national teams’ centre, including the players’ accommodation hotel, gym and restaurant, to familiarise himself with the facilities available for hosting training camps.
Maher is set to begin his tenure against Malawi on 13 November, in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The Egyptian FA also thanked Hossam Hassan for his efforts during his time in charge of the national team and wished him success in his future career.
