Tunisian Youth and Sports Minister Sadok Mourali said a bill on sports structures will soon be presented to the Assembly of the Representatives of the People, as part of a review of sector regulations and efforts to improve governance of sports structures.

Tunisian Youth and Sports Minister Sadok Mourali said a bill on sports structures will soon be presented to the Assembly of the Representatives of the People, as part of a review of the regulations governing the sector and efforts to improve governance of sports structures.
During a joint working session of parliamentary committees, Mourali discussed infrastructure, neighbourhood pitches and elite sport. He noted that some maintenance projects currently under way had been scheduled in 2016, 2017 and 2018, and that the ministry was using competitive bidding to select contractors in light of the rising cost of construction compared with initial estimates. He also said the ministry had completed more than 100 contracts and consultations during 2026, and was coordinating with the Prime Ministry and governors to monitor projects and address their problems.
The minister explained that sports facilities are available in almost all delegations and that the ministry is seeking to expand access to sport for everyone. On neighbourhood pitches, he said funding was available, but the provision of land was the main obstacle, adding that the issue would be among the ministry’s priorities in the coming period.
In football, Mourali acknowledged that results were not meeting expectations and said reform of the Tunisian Football Federation was continuing. Plans include appointing a technical director for the national teams and rebuilding the game from the grassroots by supporting and upgrading training centres, particularly the Borj Cedria centre.
