Al Hilal does not intend to reopen talks over signing Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes or make a new offer for him, according to talkSPORT. This comes despite growing doubts over the Portuguese player’s future with his English club and his approaching final months under his current contract.
The report said Al Hilal’s previous attempts to persuade Fernandes to move to the Saudi league were unsuccessful, as the player preferred to stay at Manchester United. The Saudi club has also finalized its foreign-player list after signing Gabriel Martinelli, Ollie Watkins and Crysencio Summerville in the summer, and does not intend to make room for Fernandes in the upcoming transfer window.
Meanwhile, Manchester United faces a decision over the future of 32-year-old Fernandes after renewal negotiations stalled. The club has the option to extend the current agreement until the summer of 2028. Al Hilal came close to signing the player at the start of last season, but he rejected the Saudi offer at the time and chose to continue his career at Old Trafford.
