Tottenham are reportedly leaning towards keeping young player Luca Williams-Barnett rather than loaning him out in January, with manager Roberto De Zerbi keen to give him more first-team opportunities.

This came after the 18-year-old made his Premier League debut, coming on as a substitute in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. The report said his performance strengthened his chances of staying with the first team for the rest of the season.

Tottenham had previously considered loaning him out in January amid interest from several clubs, but his appearance against Crystal Palace changed the direction of their thinking. The report suggests staying could benefit him if he gets enough playing time, noting De Zerbi’s praise for his ability and his description of him as a special talent.
