UEFA has appointed Spanish referee Jesús Gil Manzano to officiate Roma’s Champions League match against Manchester United, scheduled for Tuesday at Old Trafford at 21:00 Central European Time, or 20:00 GMT. The Spanish crew includes José María Sánchez Martínez, while Juan Martínez Munuera will serve as the fourth official, and Carlos del Cerro Grande will oversee video assistant refereeing, assisted by Cuadra Fernández.
Roma head into the match after beating Udinese 5-2 on Saturday, having scored four goals in the first 37 minutes, leaving them one point behind Inter and Lazio at the top of the Italian league. Manchester United, led by Michael Carrick, lost 0-2 to Chelsea, extending their winless run; they had also lost 1-4 to Como in the Champions League this season.
At the same time on Tuesday, Inter will play away to Feyenoord at De Kuip, with Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg in charge, after Inter lost 1-3 to Milan in the Milan derby. Italian referee David Massa will also officiate Barcelona’s match against Aston Villa at Camp Nou, with Fabio Maresca serving as the fourth official.
