Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi, 20, following his return to action after a lengthy injury absence. A report says the London club remain interested in signing him, and his recent form could prompt them to renew their pursuit ahead of the winter transfer window.
The French player has emerged as one of England’s most promising attacking talents after scoring 13 goals in 33 league appearances last season. A foot injury sustained during pre-season hampered his progress and also prevented him from completing a move away from Bournemouth in the summer.
On his return against Leeds United, Kroupi came on as a substitute for 22 minutes, set up a goal for Amine Adli with a disguised pass, and completed three successful dribbles. The report says his technical ability, movement and versatility could make him a long-term addition for Arsenal, who need greater depth and competition in the attacking third.
Bournemouth, however, do not want to lose one of their most promising players during the season, and Kroupi is under contract until 2030. According to the report, the club demanded more than £80 million to let him go in the previous transfer window, while Arsenal could face competition from Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain. The London club may wait until the summer to make a serious attempt to sign him, while continuing to monitor his development.
