Shkodran Mustafi visited Barcelona training on Thursday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, after an invitation from his compatriot, team coach Hansi Flick. Catalan newspaper Sport reported that the visit gave the former German defender an insight into the club’s training work.

After retiring from playing, Mustafi became an assistant coach with Germany’s under-21 team. He was accompanied by Flick’s assistant, Marcus Sorg, on a tour of the club’s facilities to observe its technical and tactical methods, and also watched the youth team.
Flick had given his players time off to rest after the match against Aston Villa, but he came to training with his assistant to welcome Mustafi, exchange ideas and follow the planning process.
