Abdel Ghany described the decision as serious, saying that barring the Egypt national team’s head coach from speaking was unprecedented for him, and that the situation remained unclear. Helmy Tolan said the atmosphere and circumstances surrounding the coaching staff were uncomfortable, and that he would have apologized for not continuing in the role if he were in their place.
Ashraf Qassem said he was surprised by the decision and felt that Hossam Hassan should have taken a stand and apologized for not continuing his role with the national team.
