Liverpool are hopeful of having Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Muñoz back for their Premier League meeting with Arsenal after both missed the team’s last three matches through injury. Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield, aiming for a sixth consecutive win in all competitions.
The pair have been absent since the 2-1 win over Brentford on 17 October. Szoboszlai went off injured about half an hour after returning from a hamstring problem he had sustained with the Hungary national team, while Muñoz suffered a knee injury in the same match after scoring the equaliser. Ahead of the match, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola said there was a chance that both would return.
Neither player has been seen in training since then, but a video circulating on social media reportedly showed them arriving at the team hotel on Sunday. They also posted pictures related to matchday, raising fans’ hopes that they would be included in the squad. The report said Szoboszlai, the team’s best player last season, would be an important addition, while Muñoz would provide another attacking option.
The report also noted speculation on social media over the absence of Ronald Araújo and Alexis Mac Allister from pictures of the players arriving at the hotel, with both expected to feature against Arsenal. Jeremy Frimpong, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Hugo Ekitike, meanwhile, will miss out through injury.
