Emirati businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor has denied making an offer to buy Zamalek or invest in its football company, saying in a statement posted on his Facebook account that he had not entered into negotiations on the matter.
He explained that the figures and agreements being circulated about investing in the club were incorrect, and that his support for sport and young people did not mean he was investing in or managing football clubs. He added that he had no investments in this field and did not plan to enter it, and that he did not believe he had the expertise needed to manage and develop clubs.
Al Habtoor urged the media to verify news concerning him and his projects, reiterating his appreciation for Zamalek, Egypt and local clubs, and wishing Egyptian sport further achievements.
