TEAMtalk reports that Arsenal are interested in signing Atlético Madrid winger Alex Baena as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his attacking options. Atlético, however, are reluctant to let him leave during the winter transfer window.
Baena has scored five goals and provided four assists in 14 appearances this season, while his career total stands at 92 goals and assists in 253 matches, according to the report. The 25-year-old Spaniard can play on the left or in midfield, and can also fill the striker role.
Bayern Munich are also interested in Baena, while Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle and Aston Villa have monitored his situation. Atlético value the player at no less than €80 million, around £67 million, and are not keen to accept ordinary offers in January; a summer move may therefore be more realistic, according to the report.
