Zamalek’s board is moving to adopt electronic voting during member registration for the ordinary general assembly scheduled for 8 December, aiming to speed up procedures, make participation easier and reduce the time and effort required. This is part of the club’s efforts to modernize the organization of general assemblies using technology.
The board has called for the assembly to discuss administrative and financial matters and vote on agenda items, foremost among them the budget, the final accounts and the report of the accounts auditor.
The football company project is among the items on the agenda. Members are expected to discuss a proposal to offer 51% of its shares to investors, with the club retaining 49%. The aim is to attract new investment, develop the club’s resources and ease its financial burdens, with partnership arrangements to be set out in a way that protects Zamalek’s rights and interests.
The company proposal is expected to draw members’ interest because of its implications for the future of investment in football, the relationship between the club and investors, and the mechanisms for managing the company.
