Reda Abdel Aal prefers a foreign coach for Egypt if Hossam Hassan leaves

Reda Abdel Aal said a foreign coach would be the best choice to lead Egypt if the Football Association decided to part ways with Hossam Hassan. The former Al Ahly and Zamalek player told Ahly News in an exclusive statement that the current period was not suitable for an Egyptian coach to take charge.
Abdel Aal explained his view by saying that an Egyptian coach could face constant pressure and criticism regardless of the results, and that various parties might become involved in assessing his tenure. He considered a foreign coach better able to handle these circumstances, focus on technical matters and manage the national team according to his own vision.
He added that the choice should not be based solely on the coach being foreign, but that the candidate should have a strong résumé, coaching experience and a recognised name. The decision on the coaching staff’s future and the choice of any new coach remain in the hands of the Football Association, if it decides to make a coaching change.
