Aston Villa are reportedly considering a move for Barcelona midfielder Gavi, with manager Unai Emery keen to bring him in to strengthen the squad ahead of upcoming transfer windows.
The report said that Gavi, 22, has not secured a regular starting place under Hansi Flick this season, prompting interest from European clubs. He has started two of four La Liga matches and has also come on as a substitute in Champions League matches.
The report suggests that a bigger role at Aston Villa could offer the player a fresh opportunity, but persuading him to leave Barcelona would not be easy. The Catalan club are said to have no desire to sell him and consider him part of their long-term plans, while his contract runs until 2030. Fabrizio Romano also said that Barcelona do not intend to let him go despite his reduced playing time. It remains unclear whether Aston Villa will make a formal offer.
