Arsenal beat Hull City to strengthen Premier League lead

Arsenal beat Hull City 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to six points. Captain Martin Ødegaard scored the only goal in the 72nd minute, giving the team its fifth consecutive league win.
Arsenal struggled to break through Hull's defence in the first half, while John Egan came close to scoring for the visitors with a header, and Semi Ajayi also tested goalkeeper David Raya. Declan Rice shot wide, and Kai Havertz could not control a pass from Ødegaard. A penalty awarded to Arsenal was overturned after a VAR review, as Havertz had been offside.
After the break, the Hull City goalkeeper saved an attempt from Noni Madueke but could not hold the ball, and Ødegaard followed up to score the winner. Madueke came close to adding another goal, but the goalkeeper saved his effort, and his next attempt was cleared off the goal line.
Arsenal held on to their lead until the end, recording their seventh clean sheet in the league this season and maintaining their perfect home record in the competition. The team resumes its league campaign away to Newcastle United on 21 November, before facing Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on 24 November.
