Saudi club Al-Ahli are considering ending their contract with Spanish coach Marino Pusic after a 6-1 defeat to Al-Shabab in the twelfth round of the Saudi Pro League. The match was played at SHG Arena.
Saudi newspaper Al-Yaum reported that Portuguese coach Sergio Conceição is among the leading candidates to replace Pusic if the club’s management decides to dismiss him. Conceição coached Saudi club Al-Ittihad from October 2025 to June 2026.
The newspaper noted that the defeat had prompted pressure from fans and the media on Al-Ahli’s management, as well as questions about Pusic’s ability to see out the season and restore balance to the team. Al-Ahli are sixth with 21 points, while Al-Shabab are tenth with 14 points.
